Sorted psalm

Sorted on Sundays saw the young people pen their own psalm, mirroring the way the writers of the Old Testament took their troubles to God and had a good moan…and then remembered the power of God and to be thankful. Here it is:

Why is it so hard to get up in the morning?

Why do I have to go to school?

Why is the traffic so bad in the morning?

We’re angry because you take back the things that we love.

We pray for your help and you don’t answer!

When we need someone the most, there’s no one to turn to.

But Jesus died on the cross and all this could happen:

Homeless people to have homes,

People who feel broken to feel whole,

People to feel wanted, loved and safe.

And find someone to talk to.

God you make it possible.

Thank you for cakes and buns and donuts,

Thank you for another day, even if it is hard to get out of bed.

Thank you for doctors, nurses and health care assistants.

Thank you for my brother, even though he is annoying.

Amen!
