Young people

Friday night socials happen across two venues in Bradford, serving the areas for each of the two senior schools we work in through the week. During the sessions, invited young people decide what they want to do - and begin to learn the Sorted ethos of it being run by young people for young people.

At both venues, supported by a team of staff, volunteers, and partners from Prime Time and Bradford Council’s Youth Service, they may find themselves playing cards, dodgeball, pool, planning trips out, trying musical instruments…and making friends….and knowing they are accepted and belong.

As one young person said recently: ‘Sorted is a place to feel safe and socialise and be yourself’. We’ve also been told by the young people that they value the smaller environment of Sorted compared with the very large local schools, and end up getting to know some different people they wouldn’t usually talk to.
